Who runs this site
Where's My Leak is run by ADI Leak Solutions Ltd, trading as ADI Leak Detection, company number 15870765. ADI was founded in 2011 in High Wycombe and has 25 leak investigation engineers working across England, Scotland and Wales, on around 5,000 jobs a year (ADI's figures, September 2026).
ADI finds leaks for a living, and most of the calls start the same way: someone has found water and has no idea where it is coming from. This site is the set of checks the engineers would talk you through on the phone, written down so you can try them first.
The commercial connection
The guides are free. When the checks point to a hidden leak, the site suggests calling ADI, and ADI charges for any investigation you book. When the checks point to something a plumber, a Gas Safe engineer, a roofer or your water company should deal with, the site says so and does not push you to call.
How the finder decides
Each answer you give adds weight to the sources that fit it. A stain after showers adds weight to the shower seals and the waste; a stain that grows in dry weather adds weight to hidden pipes. The finder shows the three best fits, most likely first, with the answers that pointed to each.
It cannot see your property. It suggests where to look and which check to do next. A result is a starting point, not a diagnosis.
Where the facts come from
The checks follow published guidance from water companies, councils, Gas Safe Register and trade sources, linked on the pages where they are used. ADI's figures come from ADI's own pages and Trustpilot, with the date they were checked.

When the water is coming from a pipe inside a wall, under a floor or underground, ADI traces it with equipment such as acoustic listening, thermal imaging and tracer gas, and marks the leak on site before any repair is discussed.
